Washington DC- Today, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) announced that he has sent a letter to Warnaco urging them to remain in Blair County amid reports that the company is considering closing. The Duncansville-based company employs 260 and a closure could be harmful to the region’s economy. In his letter, Casey highlighted the quality of the region’s workforce and urged Warnaco’s Chairman and CEO, Emanuel Chirico, to discuss the company’s plans with the community.
“With 260 employees, Warnaco is a major employer in Central Pennsylvania. It’s critical these jobs be maintained,” Senator Casey said. “Residents of Duncansville are rightly concerned about the future of Warnaco. I’m urging the company’s leadership to address these reports of closure and do all they can to maintain jobs.”

Dear Mr. Chirico,
I am writing regarding the recent reports that the Warnaco distribution center in Duncansville, Pennsylvania may be closing. I have heard concerns from my constituents about the closure of this facility and potential job losses. I respectfully ask you to address reports of a potential closure of this site. Additionally, I urge you to keep this facility open and the jobs associated with it in Duncansville, Pennsylvania.
As I am sure you are aware, this facility provides 260 quality jobs to Blair County, and the loss of these jobs would have serious repercussions to the regional economy. The workforce at Warnaco Distribution Center has been with the company for many years, with some of them being second generation employees. They are dedicated to the company and are very concerned about their futures This distribution facility has a long history in the region of creating good paying jobs and it would be a huge loss for the region to lose such a large employer. I urge you to consider all options to keep this facility open in Duncansville.
