WASHINGTON, DC-After the announcement of the resignation of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Alphonso Jackson, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) released the following statement:
"The resignation announcement by Secretary Jackson comes on the same day that Philadelphia's Moving-to-Work agreement is set to expire. For the sake of the more than 80,000 low-income residents in Philadelphia who may be affected, I urge the Department to resolve its dispute with the Philadelphia Housing Authority. If necessary, the White House should step in.
“These residents should not suffer due to a bureaucratic dispute.”
