WASHINGTON, DC — The U.S. Senate last night passed a resolution introduced by U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) recognizing the American Revolution Center for its role in telling the story of the American Revolution and encouraging the Center’s efforts to establish a new Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia.

“As someone who believes that there is much to learn from history, I strongly support the American Revolution Center and its effort to build a Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia,” said Senator Casey. “By educating Americans and visitors from abroad, the museum will honor the sacrifices of the Founding generation by keeping the story alive.”

The resolution recognizes the national impact of the Center in telling the entire story of the American Revolution and maintaining a significant collection of Revolutionary-era artifacts.

“This tremendous affirmation significantly furthers our efforts to build The Museum of the American Revolution,” said Dr. Bruce Cole, President and CEO of The American Revolution Center. “As demonstrated in a national survey conducted by the Center, the vast majority of adult Americans want to learn more about the American Revolution but lack fundamental knowledge of the events, people, and places of the war which created their country. The need is great and the time is now for The Museum of the American Revolution.”

The full text of the resolution is below:
