Funding will help make much-needed repairs to runway

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senators Arlen Specter (R-PA) and Bob Casey (D-PA) announced today that the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) will allocate $2.65 million in federal funding to the Quakertown Airport in Bucks County.  The grants are enabled by the recently enacted American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

“I am pleased to see the stimulus funds at work in Bucks County,” said Senator Specter. “This funding will allow the airport to make much-needed repairs to the runway and to better serve the many businesses and residents that frequent the Quakertown Airport each year.”

“I am happy that these recovery funds are being allocated so quickly to the Quakertown Airport,” Senator Casey said.  “These funds will help Quakertown Airport become safer and more efficient for travelers to and from Southeastern Pennsylvania.”
